Steve Goodchild is the kind of builder that could give other builders a bad name; he does what he says he'll do. And what he says he'll do is pretty dang wonderful. Don't let Steve's good ol' boy facade fake you out; Steve is an experienced construction professional with a great grasp on what's possible. He's built a thing or two and I don't think there's much he hasn't seen. He speaks your language and gets in your head to understand what's important to you. He is honest as the day is long and assumes you'll be that way, too. And his team is just as professional (can't possibly say enough good stuff about Juan) including the team of loyal subcontractors Steve manages. Don't tell Steve, but we love him and our architect loves him too. I'm sure someone doesn't love him, but I can't figure out who. Our home started as a simple remodel. Before we were finished blowing up the project, it was a restoration with a doubling of square footage and an impossible set of design, budget, and delivery mandates. Not sure why Steve agreed to take this project but we couldn't be happier. To sum it up, if you don't use Steve Goodchild, I believe you may have lost your mind.Ron Coben

Rebecca and I would like to thank Goodchild Builders for the beautiful home we live in today. We were very pleased with the building process and the results. Building a home, with all the details, emotions, and $$ involved, can be a very trying ordeal. Steve and Juan's expertise and counsel was invaluable as we navigated the ups and downs of the process. Their vision and attention to detail produced a home that is beautiful and functional.
We really felt like we were in a partnership with Goodchild Builders, rather than a customer. This relationship went a long way in making the journey a smooth one, as we felt as though our interests were aligned with Goodchild Builders throughout the project.
It was very evident that both Steve and Juan have a real passion for home building and not just the "business" of home building, and this is an important distinction. Additionally, it was obvious that Goodchild Builders takes a great deal of pride in their projects during and after completion, which has been our distinct experience in the 6 months following our move-in. They have continued to be very responsive to questions and concerns as they have arisen.
Finally, Steve and Juan are great guys and it has been a pleasure working with them. It's been a lot of hard work, yet we have become close friends during the past year. We are extremely pleased with the end product, but as I have learned, this is not the only important piece to the building puzzle.
